I love Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB for short) just as it is. I would come here to hang out with my friends just for fun anytime I visited Charlotte. So when Brennen and Kattie told me they were having their wedding reception here, needless to say I was more than thrilled. I was SO stoked that I got to work at one of my favorite breweries for a wedding! I mean, going to my go-to hangout spot for work? Heck yes.
But their wedding day didn’t start at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. In fact, it started at St. Mary’s Chapel in Charlotte, NC. I’ve never been here before, and I wasn’t allowed inside the building until the actual ceremony time so I was a tad nervous about what I was working with. But the second I stepped foot inside the historic chapel, I knew there was magic in the air. The beautiful light that flooded the chapel was far more than I could ever ask and hope for. Taking Kattie’s bridal photos was, quite simply, a dream too. The light that streaking in through the chapel perfectly illuminated her veil as she and her bridesmaids slip it on her hair.
Before there ceremony, Brennen and Kattie wanted to do a first look too. You could see how excited Brennen was to see Kattie for the first time, and his reaction was priceless. Afterwards, we got all lined up and ready for the ceremony! There were so many tears of happiness and words of love and you could feel it in the atmosphere of the space.
After the family photos, we hopped in the car and took a short ride over to Olde Mecklenburg Brewery to start the party!! They had a donut wall (always a good idea), photo booth props, and some of the most delicious food EVER. Like, literally ever, it was so good).
