LGBTQIA+ Wedding at the River House Inn | Cy & Kimber

April 15, 2020

Cy and Kimber’s wedding was probably one of my favorite weddings that I’ve ever shot. I remember walking up to the River House Inn and still brainstorming up ways that I could photograph the mood and atmosphere of their day. I felt nervous, unqualified, and eager to create. I strapped the cameras on to my hip, checked to make sure my batteries were charged, had memory cards at the ready, and off I went. The rest of the day seemed to go by in a blur. Everyone was more than welcoming, kind, and above all- caring.

I don’t think Cy and Kimber’s wedding day could have been the same were it not for the cozy and comforting atmosphere of the River House Inn. From the large grassy yard to the rustic, open concept barn (which used to be for drying tobacco) for their reception, everything fit their eclectic and free spirited personalities.

After taking some time to go back through all of the images, I chose images that would help tell the story of their day felt like. Their wedding felt like a warm, sunny day, the smell of fall and campfires, the loud and quiet laughter of children, and an atmosphere you felt like you belong in. So when you look through the images from Cy and Kimber’s wedding at the River House Inn, I hope you feel those same things.

If you’re a fan of outdoor weddings surrounded by nothing but nature, then you’d probably be interested in Veronika and Seth’s wedding at Nantahala Weddings and Events.
